Woods attacks Pelosi, and Then Makes Misogynistic References to Body Parts and Attacks Her Looks During Grant Woods’ radio program called The Grant Woods Show, there was a regular feature called the Woody Award. Grant and his guests seemed to believe it was a clever play on words. His last name is Woods; they used a stuffed toy of Woody the Woodpecker as a prop, (and the theme music from the cartoon show);  and they told sexual ‘jokes’ about how stiff, warm, hard, etc., Woody was. Almost always a female guest held the Woody prop. Always, the Woody Award was given as an insult. Its purpose was to signify who Grant believed had said the most stupid words, or performed the most stupid action for that week. In a video…

It’s Disturbing to Watch Grant Denigrate Overweight Plane Passengers Mocking and insulting people due to their physical appearance is uncalled for from anyone, but especially from a person vying to represent us in Washington DC. Yet, on social media and during his KTAR/KFYI radio program--the Grant Woods Show--this is exactly what Grant Woods has done. From Facebook: In an October 18, 2010 post, Woods insults the Canadian actress and singer Jessica Pare, who played Megan Draper in the AMC series Mad Men. There is something very ‘Trumpian’ about Grant’s fixation on valuing--or devaluing--people’s worth based on their outward appearance. In fact, it’s not hard to imagine Trump himself hatefully denigrating the man and woman that Grant bullies in the following 2009 video excerpt. Who can forget Trump publicly body-shaming former…

By Bryna Koch Grant Woods Mocked a Victim of Abuse for Laughs by Making Sexualized Jokes Content Warning: graphic reference of sexual abuse and victim blaming You might remember that Grant Woods was the Arizona Attorney General from 1991 to 1999. You also might recall his name from the Fiesta Bowl scandal. Grant was hired by the Fiesta Bowl after articles in the Arizona Republic revealed possible campaign-finance violations. Grant was paid $55,000 to investigate these allegations. He investigated for one week and found no wrongdoing. He later admitted his investigation was rushed. Grant published an apology here.  After a more thorough investigation, six employees of the bowl including the CEO were found to be involved in campaign-finance violations.    Grant publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016. In September, just…

Martha McSally is Bad for Military Families

Martha McSally is Bad for Military Families

Candidates, Defense, Immigration & Border, National Politics
Martha used to say "When you value people, you give them freedom." Martha McSally talking to students at National Cathedral School in 2002. Now she is willing to sacrifice the health and welfare of military members’ families by deploying soldiers at the border, solely for political gain. Using the military in this ploy is disrespectful to military members and their families. The troops are being deployed now, but the caravan will not arrive until January. Will the troops stay away from their families for the holidays *just* to perform this political stunt? Here is a reposting of some particularly important tweets from our account today.   By lying about migrant families to unjustly deploy military at the border, Martha is showing she cares more about her political aspirations than she does…

Lea Marquez Peterson on MSNBC is McSally 2.0

Lea Marquez Peterson on MSNBC is McSally 2.0

Accurate Representation, Candidates
by M. Chubon May 21, 2018   Lea Marquez Peterson was on MSNBC Sunday and it feels like deja vu. Martha McSally used to also appear on news programs other than Fox, until she went full radical immigrant hater to appear more Trump-like in her run for Senate. Lea is the the favored GOP front runner to replace Martha in Arizona's CD2 and this segment was about the dwindling number of Republican women in Congress. In MSNBC logic, why not have a fake Moderate show up and make fake Moderate statements unchecked? We sent our Candidate Questionnaire to Lea in January. She has not filled it out. So we have to parse out her positions based on statements. This sounds so familiar. She says she is hearing from constituents because…

Arizona GOP Candidate Willing to Go On Record

Arizona GOP Candidate Willing to Go On Record

Accurate Representation, Candidates
Mar 15, 2018 In a political atmosphere that punishes taking stands, we have an Arizona CD2 GOP Candidate that is willing to have his positions on record. And it isn't the front runner, who appears to be laying low in a strategy that is very familiar to Southern Arizona constituents. As an organization, our mission is to educate voters so that they can make choices at the polls based on their values, not the slick PR campaigns that mislead the average voter. We have found that the candidates want to control a narrative that often doesn’t match the reality of their votes and positions. Our purpose is to let people know the truth, in a time when the press is printing/posting press releases verbatim. Or not following up with questions…
